10 Surprising Uses For Baby Wipes

Before having kids I had used baby wipes plenty of times, but always for cleaning up babies. Once I had kids of my own, I realized how useful wipes are and how time saving they can be too. Here are 10 Surprising Uses for Baby Wipes.10 Surprising Uses For Baby Wipes

1. Use Them To Clean Your Ceiling Fan

Baby wipes are awesome for cleaning ceiling fans. I love how the dampness keeps the dirt from the blades together and it doesn’t get everywhere.

2. Use Them To Clean Painted Surfaces

My children have a real knack for getting finger prints and foot prints on the weirdest spots on our walls and stair rails. Not to mention the dust that collects on our baseboards.  As long as your paint is semi gloss, egg shell or glossy, baby wipes will take the prints right off. If you have flat wall paint, this trick won’t work as well, but it will still help.

3. Use Them To Clean Blinds

Is there anything that is more of a pain than trying to clean dusty window blinds? In our home the dust just clings to them. I’ve tried many methods over the years to clean them, but baby wipes work the best hands down. Just make sure you have a full pack handy!

4. Use Them To Clean Deodorant Marks from Clothes

If you have ever gotten a deodorant mark on your dark clothes, you know how annoying it is. You either have to live with it or change your clothes. Not so when you have a baby wipe. They will usually take the mark right off.

5. Use Them To Clean Surfaces In Your Car

Baby wipes are a great way to give the plastic interior of your car a quick cleaning. Always be sure that you test an area before wiping if you are not sure how it will react. Never use a baby wipe on leather.

6. Use Them To Moisten Envelopes

If you have a bunch of envelopes to moisten for a birthday party or Christmas use a baby wipe instead. A baby wipe won’t be nearly as messy as a wet paper towel or cloth and your mouth will thank you!

7. Use Them To Clean Up Hands, Feet and Spills When Traveling

I always carried baby wipes when my kids were really little, but I think I’ll carry a pack of baby wipes with us when we travel indefinitely. They are just so handy. Especially when you are out and about somewhere where you can’t easily wash your hands like on a plane or a cruise ship excursion.

8. Use Them To Wipe Away Hair Dye Stains

Oh the fun of aging and having to dye your hair. If you do it yourself you may find that you have a few spots of dye on your forehead, ears or neck. Baby wipes will help you easily clean those marks off.

9. Use Them As A Makeup Remover

You can spend lots of money on fancy makeup removers or just grab some baby wipes. Since they are usually made for baby’s sensitive skin, they should not irritate yours.

10. Use Them To Refresh Yourself On A Hot Day

It gets hot where we live and despite our best efforts I find that we just get warm from the heat. I find that wiping my children’s forehead, neck, hands and feet before they go to sleep helps cool them off a little more and it helps them sleep.

I have to say that I would hands down recommend Huggies Baby Natural Care Unscented wipes as my favorite. They have a nice consistency, they hold up well and they are perfectly moistened!

WARNING! I have seen many posts where the writer recommends using baby wipes on leather. I would exercise caution as I used a baby wipe on a leather chair of ours and it started to take away the color. If you want to try a baby wipe on leather. I suggest trying it out first on an inconspicuous place.
