I am an elementary school teacher so many people assume I know how to teach my kids everything. Wrong! I teach music. Last summer, I taught our 4 year old daughter how to read. This summer we are working on learning how to tell time, understand money and the most difficult of all, tying shoes! As a teacher I know how important this skill is, so I am determined that my daughter will learn how to do this before kindergarten.
The problem is that teaching another person how to tie shoes is not easy. Tying shoes requires good hand eye coordination as well as fine motor skills that kids don’t always have. As I looked for ways to teach my daughter how to tie her shoes, I came across the sites and videos below. I admit I used a combination of these techniques to teach my daughter, but she can now tie her shoes! I hope they work for you!
